2” x 3” Journal Cards

Vintage Easter journal cards can be a beautiful addition to a junk journal layout and can be used in a variety of ways. Here are some ideas:

Collage: Cut out the images from the cards and use them to create a collage on a page of your journal. You can layer them with other vintage ephemera, such as old book pages, sheet music, or vintage wallpaper scraps.

Pocket pages: Create pockets on a page and insert the card inside. This is a great way to keep them safe and secure while still being able to enjoy them. You can decorate the pockets with lace, ribbon, or washi tape to make them extra pretty.

Backgrounds: Use the card as a background for your journal page. You can either glue them down as they are or cut them up and use the individual elements to create a custom background.

Embellishments: Cut out the individual elements from the cards and use them as embellishments for your journal. For example, you could use a bunny image to decorate a corner of a page or use a chick image to decorate a tag.

Mini-books: Use the cards to create mini-books within your journal. Simply staple or glue the edges of the cards together to create a small booklet. You can decorate the cover with additional vintage ephemera, and fill the backs of the pages with your own writing, sketches, or quotes.

3.5” x 2” Journal Cards

Vintage Easter postcards featuring bunnies, chicks, and children were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As you can see from the selection in these ephemera sheets, they typically featured colorful and whimsical illustrations of these Easter-related themes, often with a nostalgic or sentimental tone.

The bunnies in these postcards have an anthropomorphic element. They walk upright and use glasses, canes, etc. These postcards also feature a pastoral or outdoor setting, with the rabbits surrounded by flowers, grass, and other springtime imagery.

The chicks in these illustrations feature adorable baby chicks, playing with Easter eggs and wearing cute little hats and bows. The chicks are portrayed in a cute and playful way, with soft, fluffy feathers and bright, cheery colors.

Children were a common theme in vintage Easter postcards as well. These postcards show children dressed up in their Easter best, hunting for eggs and playing with bunnies and chicks. The children are depicted as innocent and angelic, with bright eyes and rosy cheeks.

Vintage Easter postcards featuring bunnies, chicks, and children often evoke feelings of joy, innocence, and the excitement of springtime and Easter celebrations.

I hope you are able to use these ephemera sheets as inspiration for your mixed media art journaling, junk journaling, bullet journaling, collage, artist trading cards (ATCs), scrapbooking, and other crafts.
