Seed Catalog Vintage Ephemera

Seed Catalog Vintage Ephemera

Do you remember these Vegetable Seed Catalog Ephemera Sheets? The images on these free vintage ephemera sheets are from the same Bliss & Sons seed catalog dating back to 1875. This time, I decided to feature some of the ornamental plants in the catalog.

I guess I was feeling inspired after pulling weeds around my yard. I only made a small dent in my list of gardening projects. I need to give the planters in my yard some attention and consider introducing some new plants to spruce them up, but I can’t seem to get motivated. Seeing the pretty plants in these images does give me some food for thought, though.

Scroll down, and you’ll find two different sheets of 2.5” x 4.25” journal cards. If you like these collage sheets, you may also like these vintage adult coloring book collage sheets or these vintage botanical illustrations sheets.

Bliss & Sons was a well-known seed company based in New York that specialized in the production and sale of vegetable and flower seeds.

The catalog was typically released annually and was filled with descriptions and illustrations of the various seeds and plants that the company offered. The catalog was designed to be both informative and enticing, with images and detailed descriptions of the plants and their potential uses.

In addition to the seeds themselves, the catalog also included helpful tips and advice for gardeners, such as instructions for planting and caring for various crops, as well as suggestions for garden layouts and design.

The Bliss & Sons Seed Catalog was widely popular among both amateur and professional gardeners, and its influence helped to shape the development of American horticulture during the 19th century. Today, vintage copies of the catalog are highly sought after by collectors and garden enthusiasts alike, serving as a fascinating glimpse into the history of American gardening and horticulture.
