Ornamental Masks Ephemera Sheet
I came across the ornamental masks on this free ephemera sheet and thought they might be fun for Halloween. The engravings date back to the mid 1500s. Something about them reminded me of the talking door knockers in the movie Labyrinth. Maybe that’s an obscure reference nowadays, but that movie was a big deal when I was a kid. I suppose that dates me.
I really liked the expressions on the faces of these masks. There were some really angry-looking ones that were a bit too intense for me, so I skipped those, opting instead for the ones that ranged from happy to mildly grumpy. If you look closely, there are some very interesting details in the masks. You’ll see shells, acorns, lobster claws, fruit, grass, etc.
Use this ephemera sheet for art journaling, junk journaling, bullet journaling, collage, artist trading cards (ATCs), scrapbooking and other mixed media artwork and crafts.
